TELEMAC AWARDED MULTIPLE PATENTS Telemac’s Global Patent Portfolio to Reach 73 Patents in 30 Countries LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – May 14, 2007 – Telemac Corporation, the global leader in network-edge real-time accounting and billing technologies for the wireless industry, has been awarded additional patents and allowances in the United States, Canada, China and Russia. With the issuance of these patents, Telemac will have 73 patents in 30 countries and more than 70 patents pending in 38 countries, including 14 patents in the United States and its first patents in Canada and Russia. United States: The United States Patent Office has granted Telemac a patent allowance that covers methods for activating, assigning telephone numbers to, and replenishing the accounts of, prepaid and cost controlled wireless devices. The patent also covers systems for restricting wireless device usage to an allowed number of calls or allowed cumulative airtime. The patent also covers systems with terminal-based accounting that store and communicate call data to a host processor. The later feature is useful in reconciliation processes used for fraud detection. The features of the invention are included in Telemac CostControl® technology. The allowance should mature into a patent in about 90 days. Canada: The Canadian Patent Office has granted Telemac an allowance for its first patent in Canada. The patent will be a counterpart to Telemac's U.S. Patent 6,480,710 and includes reconciliation processes used in Telemac Prepaid Technology® for fraud detection. The allowance should mature into a patent in about 90 days. China: Telemac has been granted its second Chinese patent. The Chinese patent covers a system by which a wireless user may pay for various transactions using multiple wallets. The system would permit a wireless user to maintain separate accounts for business calls, personal calls, and purchase transactions. This invention enables users to easily manage their complex mobile lifestyles from within a single wireless device. The features of this invention are included in Telemac ABS™ technology, as well as other products being developed by Telemac. Russia: Telemac has been granted an allowance for its first Russian patent. The Russian patent covers a method and system to determine a charge for a data communication session between a network and a wireless device. The invention includes a data-rating application that resides in the wireless device. The features of this invention are included in Telemac ABS™ technology. The allowance should mature into a patent in about 90 days. Kenin M.
